The funeral rites for the Commander in Chief Fidel Castro began at 9 AM this Monday in Havana at the Jose Marti Memorial, where the Cuban people gathered to pay their homage. 
Twenty-one-gun salute from the Cabaña fortress on Havana Bay mark the beginning of the activities, while at the same time a similar ceremony is happening in Santiago de Cuba.  
Hundreds of thousands of people are expected to flock to the Revolution Square, and all over the country, thousands of places have been prepared for people to sign a document to show their commitment to carry out the legacy of Fidel Castro.  
The ashes of the Commander in Chief will be laid at the Memorial for people to show their respects till 10 PM, while tomorrow the same activity will last till noon, while at 7 PM there will be a mass gathering in the Revolution Square.
