Several media say Japan's trading houses would have serious intentions to position in Cuba soon, before the United States end up gaining all the attention, thanks to the increasing easing of US sanctions.
The Japanese purpose would be to gain space and opportunities in infrastructure and motoring, mainly. According to the business daily Bloomberg, Mitsubishi Corp., the largest company in Japan, opened an office this month in Havana and is currently processing "possible business arrangements".

Furthermore, Mitsui & Co. will open an office in September and is considering the export of Cuban nickel.
