Rogelio Sierra, Deputy Foreign Minister of Cuba and Kazakhstan ambassador in Cuba, Konstantin Zhigalov, signed an agreement on visa exemption for short visits, said Kazakh diplomatic sources quoted by EFE.
According to Zhigalov, "The liberalization of the visa regime will strengthen the growth of tourist flows and the strengthening of economic relations between the two countries."
A sample of the intentions by enhancing the link between the nations is the support given by the Caribbean island to Kazakhstan "for the position of non-permanent member of the Security Council of the UN in the period 2017-2018," the Kazakh diplomat said.
For its part, the Kazakh government will support Cuba in "re-election to the Human Rights Council 2017-2019".
