Grammy nominee Septeto Santiaguero to play in Mexico and L.A.
The album No quiero llanto. Tribute to Los Compadres, by the Septeto Santiaguero, is nominated for the 2015 Grammy Awards.
Fernando Dewar, director of the group, said over the weekend at Havana's International Press Center that the album will compete in Best Traditional Tropical Music, the only CD to be presented by EGREM in the Los Angeles contest.
He stressed that this is the group's third Grammy nomination to the contest.
Prior to its trip to the United States, the septet, starting from October 19, will be part of the Cuban delegation to the Festival of Mayan Culture in Mexico.
Starting from November 10 it will carry out a multi-city tour of the Mexican state of Quintana Roo and then travel to Los Angeles to attend, on the 19th, the awards ceremony of the Grammies.
