Japan and Cuba are planning to hold in Havana in November its first public-private forum to expand their economic ties, according to the Kyodo news agency. The two countries agreed to this dialogue between governments and businesses when Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida visited Cuba last May, accompanied by a mission of 20 companies in sectors such as logistics, finance, automobile, infrastructure, trade, health or tourism. According to sources, in this forum, to be held around 9 and 10 November, the Japanese side seeks to urge the Government of the Caribbean country to improve its business environment with changes in taxation and the labor market.
