In a ceremony at Jose Marti International Airport, in Havana, Jose Ramon Fernandez president of the Cuban Olympic Committee (COC) welcomed the last group of athletes participants in the 17th Toronto 2015 Pan American Games.
We welcome you as what you are, patriots who, despite the often unequal struggle, managed to succeed during these two weeks in Toronto, said the Cuban sports official, who also highlighted the sometimes difficult conditions faced by competitors of the Caribbean nation.
Cuba closed its performance in Toronto in fourth place by countries, behind the United States (102-78-81), Canada (77-68-69) and Brazil (41-39-60), respectively.
