Aladdin, American Alan Menken’s musical will premiere in Havana
Aladdin, American Alan Menken´s musical will premiere on July 25, in the Amphitheatre of Avenida del Puerto in Havana. This was stated by the Cuban director Alfonso Menéndez in a press conference at the Spanish Cultural Center. The piece will be in theaters on Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00pm until the end of the year.
Six intense months of work were needed to be ready for the premiere, given the complexity of the choreography, choirs and music. Each music and choirs transcription was carried out by the renowned maestro Miguel Patterson, with the collaboration of the Choir of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television.
Caridad Rodriguez Menendez, choreographer, also praised the high technical level of the cast and the special chemistry between everyone, whether they were amateurs or professionals.
