Cuban President Raul Castro today highlighted the "global admiration" that Pope Francis emanates by his preaching in favor of "peace and equity, poverty eradication and environmental protection."
Raul Castro, in a speech to Cuba's National Assembly, also highlighted the "attention" with which Pope’s world analysis on the causes of the problems of humanity has been followed, according to official media on the island.
He also described as "memorable" the Pope´s tour earlier this month by Ecuador, Bolivia and Paraguay.
The Cuban leader stressed that the island is preparing to welcome the Pope with "affection, respect and hospitality, as he deserves," during the pastoral visit by September 19 to 22.
