Cuban parliament opens accounts on Facebook and Twitter
Cuba's National Assembly announced that it opened Twitter and Facebook accounts, unusual media in the government of a country where very few of its citizens have access to the Internet.
The news was announced through the local media. They reported that now the Assembly will have a Twitter account under the username @AsambleaCuba and another in Facebook under the name "Cuba National Assembly."
"Although many official institutions of other countries have such mechanisms to report on their activities, on the island is unusual in part because of the lack of Internet connectivity," the oficial media said.
