High-level segment of the Summit of the African Union started

The high-level segment of the 25th Summit of the African Union (AU) began yesterday with the official receiving of the Heads of State and participants by Jacob Zuma, South African president.
Issues such as migration, governance and xenophobia were subjects of discussions.
According to statistics, more than 40 heads of state and government attend this summit segment.
Cuba, headed by Salvador Valdes, Vice President of the State Council, is among the invited delegations to the important continental meeting.
Valdes arrived in South Africa on Friday for an official visit and since his arrival he has also held bilateral exchanges with leaders of the South African Communist Party, the Congress of South African Trade Unions and the African National Congress.
