Cuba is not ready for investment, says billionaire
After a recent trip to Cuba, the American billionaire and real estate developer Stephen Ross said on Tuesday that the country is not entirely open for business while the Castro government to be in power.
"You hear a lot about Cuba. You hear a lot about the opportunities offered in Cuba. I did not seem to find that many great opportunities. It was like stepping back in time", said the president and founder of the real estate agency The Related Companies to CNBC on Tuesday.
Ross added he did not expect to see a real change in Cuba as long as the country's leaders to remain in power. Fidel Castro and his brother Raul have maintained control of the country for over half a century.
A government that really wants change, that really wants business, and really wants to see progress, is needed and this one has none of these feelings at all", Ross stated.
