The experiences in the use of photovoltaic solar energy in Cuba and its future projections attract the interest of delegates to the VIII International Conference on Renewable Energy, Energy Saving and Energy Education (CIER 2015).
This method takes advantage of the incidence of sunlight on the country to generate clean energy, which does not affect the environment.
According to experts of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the country plans for the next 15 years the construction of small photovoltaic plants, which can reach a total of about 700 megawatts.
During 2014 several works were carried out in order to increase generation capabilities built into the power grid in the country, which are characterized by social and economic benefit.
In CIER-2015 will be exhibited the potential of Cuban universities in the search for solutions and technological developments that facilitate the proper use of resources to promote economic efficiency in the sector.  About 300 delegates from over 17 countries attended the meeting, which ends on Thursday at the International Conference Center.
