JetBlue Airlines announced that starting from July 3 it will connect New York and Havana with a weekly flight, although U.S. citizens won't be able to travel as tourists, due to the restrictions of the blockade.
Tickets for this flight from the John F. Kennedy International Airport to Havana's Jose Marti International Airport can be purchased through the charter trips agency Cuban Travel Services (CTS).
The announcement of the new flight comes a few weeks after New York Governor Andrew Cuomo concluded a commercial mission to Cuba in search of opportunities for companies of the region interested in investing on the island.
"I congratulate JetBlue for becoming the first big airline to announce a direct flight between New York and Cuba in this new era between our nations," concludes the press release by Governor Cuomo.
