The Spanish prime minister, Mariano Rajoy, assured on Monday in Guatemala Spain's support for the process initiated by the United States to restore relations with Cuba and stressed that what they want is "a democratic Cuba".

Rajoy alluded to these negotiations at the press conference offered by the President of Guatemala, Otto Perez Molina, at the end of the interview that both maintained, said it is "a positive development" and stated that Spain was never in favor of the embargo Cuba, reported EFE.

"Now it is she trying to restore diplomatic relations, normalize the situation, and, of course, this process has the support of Spain," he said.
