For the first time in over a year, the Cuban shortstop Jose Iglesias participated in a game, although complying with expectations, I was involved in one inning of the game against a college team.

Iglesias caught a balloon at the top of the first inning and hit a harmless grounder in the bottom. The Detroit Tigers crushed 12-2 Southern Florida.

Shortstop felt discomfort in February 2014, after participating in an exhibition match. He was out for the rest of the season because of stress fractures in both legs.

Iglesias, 25, had a .303 average in combination with Boston and the Tigers in 2013.

"Sometime I get my rhythm when you participate in more games but otherwise I feel great to get back," said Iglesias. "Just wear the uniform again is wonderful."
