Cuban President Raul Castro received on Wednesday in Havana former Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and former Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos.

The nightly national newscast emission Cuban television showed footage of the interview the Cuban leader with Spanish socialist politicians.

"During the cordial meeting issues of mutual interest of regional and international agenda were discussed, as well as the historical relations that bind the two nations," said a report of the news broadcast images.

On the first day of his stay in Cuba, Spanish politicians held meetings with Foreign Minister Rodriguez and Acting Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of the island, Antonio Carricarte.
