The Cuban Lazaro Bruzon repeated his triumphs of 2005 and 2013 to be crowned in the group Magistral Carlos Torre Memorial Chess Championship in Merida, Mexico.

Bruzón gained 7.5 points from a possible nine tables signing Juan Carlos Obregon and closed with six wins and three divisions, ahead of fellow Cuban Isam Ortiz.

The event brought together 110 contestants as a prelude to the Copa America agreed the next 26 to 31 in the Ecuadorian city of Guayaquil, where they will Bruzón, Isam and many of those gathered now.
