More than 40,000 IDs have been delivered from the implementation of the new identity in Cuba, 89% of them live in the capital. In Havana has extended the service to 19 offices, specified Colonel Mario Méndez Mayedo, first deputy chief of the Department of Identification, Immigration and Nationality of the Ministry of Interior.

Méndez Mayedo also reported to have received more than six thousand calls by phone 188 08 now available in all provinces to provide information and respond to the concerns, complaints and suggestions from the public about the new card or services offices paperwork in general.

Valid for 10 years from his inauguration, the new card is made with materials of proven quality and durability, and its enforcement ensure greater security in the current system of identity in Cuba.
