The Cuban player Yasmany Thomas signed a six-year contract with the D-backs for $ 68.5 million. The player trained six days a week for four months until the rules allowed him to start working with teams in early September.

Thomas, who turned 24 last month, was highly sought after becoming a free agent. He trained with Braves, D-backs, Dodgers, Mariners, Giants, Padres, Phillies, Rangers, Red Sox and Royals.

The player was unlocked by the Bureau of Foreign Department of Treasury Assets in September and was declared a free agent by the Major League Baseball a few weeks later.
