The Canadian company Blue Diamond extends its operation in Cuba with the addition of the hotel Memories Holguín, so far operated under the name Riu Playa Turquesa. The closure of the activities of the Riu chain on the island gave way to the new Canadian government.

Blue Diamond operates seven more tourist facilities and about four thousand rooms. Its new facility, located on the beach Yuraguanal, in the eastern province, it’s being now remodeled to adapt their services to the standards required by Memories Blue Diamond brand.

According to Rafael Villanueva, commercial director of the Cuba division of the Canadian company confirmed that trade under management contracts with travel agencies and turperadores, especially regarding quality standards will be honored.

Nearly four years after coming to the Island, Blue Dimond manages and markets in this destination eight tourism facilities under Royalton and Memories brands, luxury latter adults only.

The hotel management contracts are one of the forms of foreign investment that prioritizes the Ministry of Tourism in its development strategy, focused today on Cuban tourism product diversification and expanding its hotel industry until 2030.
