Raul Castro received in Havana Yang Jing, Chinese state councilor, who is on an official visit to Cuba. The meeting between the two reflected the excellent state of bilateral relations and the willingness of both parties to continue promoting the full and complete development of these relations.

Yang Jing, who was appointed by the National People's Congress (NPC, China's legislature) as one of the five directors of state for President Xi Jinping in March 2013, traveled to Cuba for an official visit by a delegation of Government and the Communist Party of China.

As part of his agenda in Havana, Yang met Thursday with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez and Friday presided over the signing of a bilateral agreement for the "training of cadres of state and government."

China is the second largest trading partner of Cuba and this in turn, the largest in the Asian country in the Caribbean, with an exchange in 2013 reached a volume of 1.880 million, according to official data.
