Yuriorkis Gamboa defeated with knockout to Mexican Joel Montes de Oca in a fight on Saturday at the Plaza de Toros in Cancun, Mexico. This victory represents the claim of the setback against Terence Crawford.

Gamboa (24-1, 17 KO), former champion featherweight World Association (WBA) and International Federation (IBF), ended the fight in the sixth assault.

With the victory, after sending him to the canvas twice to Mexico, Gamboa won the belt Continental Americas lightweight endorsed by the World Boxing Council (WBC).
