The players Yulieski Gourriel and Alfredo Despaigne lead the Cuban team that will participate in the Central American and Caribbean Games 2014 Veracruz. The team will be led by veteran Victor Mesa and hope to reach the gold medal.

The staff of 24 players appears 21 debutants in regional games and three veterans of the 2006 edition of Cartagena (Colombia): Alexander Malleta, Gourriel and Frederich Cepeda.

Four members of the team have played in the Japanese professional league last season: Gourriel, Despaigne, Cepeda and Hector Mendoza.

In the history of these games, Cuba has won 14 titles, though the monarch force is Dominican Republic, who won the previous edition of Mayagüez 2010 (Puerto Rico), which did not attend Cuban delegation after reporting obstacles from US.

The Cuban team was made up as follows:

-Catchers: Frank Camilo Morejon, Yosvani Alarcón and Yulexis La Rosa.

-Basemen: Alexander Malleta, Lourdes Gourriel Jr, Luis Yander O, Yulieski Gourriel, Yordan Manduley and Dainer Moreira.

-Fielders: Alfredo Despaigne, Frederich Cepeda, Alexei Bell, Yadier Roel Hernandez and Santos.

-Pitchers: Fredy Asiel Alvarez, Norge Luis Ruiz, Yoanni Yera, Yosvani Torres, Hector Mendoza, Sierra Yaisel Vladimir Gutierrez, Julio Alfredo Martinez Martinez Jonder Cionel Perez.
