Two Cuban judokas participants in the World Junior Cup held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, did not return to Cuba. One is the female Gusmary Garcia, competing in more than 78 kilograms, while the other has not been confirmed, but suspected male Leilandy Alain Bridges, 60kg.

"I’m not wonder, it often happens with older and now youth comes. Hopefully will come a day when there is no reason for athletes to stay," the CEO of USA Judo, Humberto Rodriguez said. "This is one more reason to find a solution for the good of all and for future generations," he added.

The Cuban team had a poor performance in the world, attended by 72 countries. Japan ended leader with seven gold, four silver medals and two bronze medals, followed by France (1-2-5), Russia (1-2-3), Mongolia (1-1-2), Brazil (1- 1-1) Spain (1-1-0), South Korea and Tunisia (1-0-1), Croatia and Hungary (1-0-0).

Cuba ranked at 31 with three sevenths places, one of Gusmary Garcia, who lost three warnings for passivity againts the Ecuadorian Marlin Nurseries.
