The International Group of Tour Operators and Travel Agents Havanatur SA, said they expects increases of 6% and 8% in visitor arrivals to the island for the winter with the start of the high season. Historically this has been the period of the year with more tourism in Cuba, so the company has strengthened its commercial operations in several markets worldwide.

José Manuel Bisbé York, company president, said Canada will strengthen its lead among top emitters of travelers, with increased frequency of flights, which mostly assume Cubana.

There are expected from Canada about 26 weekly flights from the Cuban airline, although some places will also be offered in the airline Transat and to a lesser extent in Air Canada.

Havanatur SA is making strong operations in Russia, with a view to recovering the rhythms of growth in tourist arrivals from that market, which declined significantly by commercial mistakes in previous stages.

Moreover emissions from Chile and France had higher numbers as a result of hiring good air capabilities; as well as Italy, where they have an ambitious program to promote Cuban tourist product.

According to plan, Havanatur SA should close 2014 with 660,000 arrivals to the island, after a first half with growth of up to 7% in their operation.
