The Cubans managed six wins in the first round of the Mohammed VI Cup held in Marrakech, Morocco. The winners were Roniel Iglesias, Lazaro Alvarez, Julio Cesar La Cruz, Erislandy Savon, Yasnier Lopez and Arlen Toledo.

Roniel Iglesias, Olympic champion, won 3-0 in the welterweight division to Egyptian Moahmoud Hamdi Abdelmaouj. Other winners in this way were the two-time champions of the world Lazaro Alvarez and Julio Cesar La Cruz, who crossed punches with Senegalese Wade Ibrahina and Ibrahim Sarr in light and semi-complete categories, respectively.

Erislandy Savon also won 3-0 to Spanish Dress Ashain Lemsayah, and medium Arlen Lopez to the Hungarian Karoly Kabai. Moreover, in the light welterweight Olympic bronze medalist Yasnier Toledo defeated 2-1 to the host Hamza El-Barbari, subhead last tournament Cordova Cardin.

The event brings together exponents from 14 countries, 62 in the men's sector and end on Friday, when released by the super complete Yoandris Toirac gold.
