"View of the tropics from sunset: new narratives proposed in Cuba and the Diaspora" is the title of the discussion group organized by the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at New York University to take place this October 10th. It will be composed of writers from the island and the host country.

Cuban writer Raúl Aguiar gives a talk "Down Narrative Realism rhizome against tree-narrative in the work of young Cuban writers?" And academic Ana Belén Martín Sevillano intervene with "Cuban diaspora literature: notes on a problematic ". While Jacqueline Loss, University of Connecticut, will moderate.

Raúl Aguiar teaches creative writing Center Onelio Jorge Cardoso, Havana. His work has been included in numerous anthologies of Cuban and Latin American narrative. He also edits Qubit magazine dedicated to the cyberpunk and science fiction.

Ana Belen Martin Sevillano is professor of Hispanic studies at the University of Montreal. He has published several papers on Caribbean literature.

Jacqueline Loss is a professor of cultural studies, Latin American culture and comparative literature at the University of Connecticut. He has published several books on Cuba and Latin America.
