Latin Grammys, to be held on November 20 in Las Vegas, among the 47 nominated artists with more than 10 Cubans. These include Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona, who along with Enrique Iglesias have five nominations with the theme "Dancing."

The song, record label Universal Music / Republic Records, will compete in the categories Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Urban Performance and Best Urban Song. Descemer Bueno, author of the song, thanked his audience and staff to celebrate the nominations obtained.

Other Cubans Grammy nominations are in category: Song of the Year, Silvio Rodríguez with Calle 13, with the song "Eye Color Sun"; and Pablo Milanes in Best Singer-Songwriter Album with the album "Renaissance".

In Best Salsa Album is Aymee Nuviola with "First Class To Havana", from the recording Worldwide Entertainment & Productions; Eliades Ochoa and Cuarteto Patria appear nominees for Best Traditional Tropical Album with the album "I Am The Eliades".

Paquito D'Rivera & Trio Corrente compete for Best Latin Jazz Album with "Song For Maura," produced in collaboration with Fabio Torres (piano), Paulo Paulelli (bass) and Edu Ribeiro (percussion). This was the only Cuban saxophonist award at the 56th Grammy Awards.

They were also nominated album "Women With Drawers" Cuban Albita Rodríguez with Eva Ayllon and Olga Cerpa, who compete in Best Folk Album; and the album "Rumba Flora: The History of Grape and Garbancito" of the troubadour Rosa Rita Ruesga, for Best Children's Album.

In Best Classical Contemporary Composition there is also an islander: Jalil War, with the album "String Quartet No. 2", the record RYCY Productions Inc.
