The creation of research centres in various academic and computer regions of the Higher Education Ministry are expressed in cooperation memorandum between Angola and Cuba in the sector, said Wednesday in Luanda the State Secretary for Higher Education for Innovation, Maria Augusto Martins.
 
Speaking at the opening of 2nd Meeting gathering Angolan and Cuban chancellors, the official said that the creation of research centre will help the lecturers and students in the teaching and learning process.

On the cooperation in academic and scientific fields, under the planning action, Maria Augusto Martins termed excellent, both quantitatively and qualitatively.

The official considered the participation of the Cuban professors in training process in the country's seven academic regions a contribution that strengthen the friendship ties and joint development in academic and scientific projects, with themes of common interest.
 
Cooperation relations between Angola and Cuba date back to liberation struggle of Angola, while in higher education field started in 1980s.

Angola and Cuba signed in 2007 a memorandum of understanding and a cooperation agreement on higher education field and staff training during a visit by the Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos to Havana (Cuba).
