Authorities of the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR) gave recognition to the representative of Air France airline for the 15 years of direct flights between Havana and Paris.

Cubaâ?Ös deputy minister of Tourism Xiomara Martinez thanked the representative of Air France, Céline Balmelle, the companyâ?Ös collaboration and its contribution to the development of tourism in Cuba, MINTUR said in a news release.

Havana-Paris ar operations began in June, 15 years ago with only two weekly flights.

At present, the capacity was increased to 10, the ministry recalled.

The 60 percent of French people visiting the Cuba do it using this airline.

Air France maintains a record of flights to Cuba and brings not only French visitors, but also tourists from other parts of the world, such as Spain, Italy, Asia, according to MNTUR.

France will be the guest at the upcoming International Tourism Fair organized by Cuba every year and is the fifth most important market for the country with more than 100 000 visitors each year, MINTUR Minister Manuel Marrero told reporters.
