Cuban divers Jose Antonio Guerra and Jeinkler Aguirre returned to the medals podium, after winning the silver medal in the third phase of the Diving Grand Prix, held in Gatineau, Canada.

The Cuban diving duo scored 450.09, their highest yet this season, finishing second in the 10 meter synchronized platform.

The Cubans were surpassed only by the Olympic champions Yuan Zhang and Cao Yanquan from China, who returned to exercise their hegemony over the platform, earning 470.25 points.

The Colombian duo of Victor Ortega and Juan Rios scored 396.51, ending in third place at the event where seven pairs competed.

In the first of the seven phases of the circuit, held in Madrid, the Cubans gained 388.80, second to the Chinese Siyi Xie and Jian Yang (458.64), who went on to raise the bar in Rostock, Germany, with a score of 482.43.

Cubans will compete shortly in the World Diving Series in Mexico, with final stages set for Guadalajara on the 17th and 19th of this month, and in Mexico City on the 24th and 26th.

At this stage of the Diving Grand Prix, the Mexican divers also had an excellent performance, taking four medals.

Rommel Pacheco and Jahir Ocampo took silver in the three-meter synchronized springboard, and Pacheco took bronze in the three-meter individual springboard. The Mexican Dolores Hernandez took bronze in the three-meter individual springboard, like the duo Karla Rivas and Monica Marquez who took bronze in the 10-meter synchronized platform.

For their part, the Colombians Sebastian Villa and Sebastian Morals took bronze in the three-meter synchronized springboard and Juan Rios placed third in the 10-meter individual platform.
