The director of the Cuban Tourism Ministry Office in Russia, Estefania Escobar, considered a big surprise winning two of the most important awards at the MITT fair, which ended in this capital.
During the gala at the Moscow International Travel and Tourism (MITT) Fair, one of the world's top five events in the sector, Cuba was acknowledged as the most hyped country and its stand was the best.
Escobar made those statements to Prensa Latina in front of a poster with a photo of famous Cuban double bassist Jorge Reyes and the identifying text of campaign "Authentic Cuba".
While the members of the Cuban delegation are negotiating with Russian airlines, travel agencies and tour operators at the stand, cigar rollers Jose Castelar (Cueto), who is holds the Guinness record for the longest Havana cigar, attracts a large audience with the magic of his hands.
Referring to the presence for a first time of ten Latin American and Caribbean countries at the fair, Escobar explained that amid the global crisis, Russia is one of the tourist-sending markets that has continued growing.
