Cuba and Costa Rica seek today in this capital to boost bilateral ties with the official visit of Foreign Minister of that Central American country, Enrique Castillo, whose agenda foresees meetings with authorities and signing of agreements.

Castillo's agenda in Cuba includes talks with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment.

According to the agenda, the signing of a Framework Agreement between the two governments will be in the afternoon, to strengthen some ties that currently have their greatest expression in culture, sport, and environment.

The Costa Rican foreign minister arrived in yesterday for a three-day visit, in order to boost diplomatic ties between Havana and San Jose, which were restored in June 2009.

More than 140 Costa Rican scholarship holders are studying in Cuba, the vast majority in the health sector. sc/iff/wmr
