Greco-roman style London Olympic Champ in 120 kilos, Mijain Lopez was selected on Friday Best Cuban Wrestler in the year 2012.

altLopez, who also took the gold at Beijing 2008, made an excellent performance at London Olympics by winning all his combats.

The 30-year-old wrestler from the western province of Pinar del Rio defeated Estonia’s Heiki Nabi in the finals (2-0 and 1-0) and he took the Olympic crown.

Previously, Lopez won the Guadalajara Pan-American Games as he defeated Turkish Riza Riza Kayaalp 2-0, Egyptian abdelrahman El Trabily 2-0, and Georgian Guram Pherselidze 2-0.

The list of the Best Cuban Wrestlers in 2012 includes  Ivan Lopez (Free-66 kilos), Pedro Isaac Mulen (Greco-66), Yunior Estrada (Greco-96), Katerine Vidiaux (Free-63), Gustavo Balart (Greco-55) and Javier Cortina (Free-96).
