The Miami International Piano Festival kicks off this Sunday December 9th at 5 PM the great pianist Jorge Luis Prats . Prats will offer an intimate recital named from Vienna to Cuba, by the title we understand he will be performing music from the classical period such as Johann Strauss and Schubert to the modern songs of Cuban Icon Ernesto Lecuona. This program should be very popular specialy in Miami were so many cuban or latinos apreciate the beautiful music of masters such as Lecuona.

The 2013 season of Miami International Piano Festival is part of the 16 year anniversary of this organization. Under the wise direction of its founder Giselle Brodski, the Miami International Piano Festival has brought to its audience beautiful master pieces for piano performed by selected talented pianists from arround the world, they all have in comun their exquisite interpretation and profound knowledge of the instrument in this case the piano.

The piano recital series called "Classical Sundays at five"takes part at the Aventura Cultural Arts center , featuring the first one this sunday the 9th with world renowned pianist Jorge Luis Prats.

Followed by the recital of French pianist Eric Ferrand-N'kaqua "From European Romanticism to American Romance" featuring works by Mendelssohn, Liszt, Debussy, Ravel and Gershwin.

Continuing February 3rd with young pianist from China Sijing Ye under the title "Prodigies and masters of tomorrow" will perform from Copin to Liszt, featuring Chopin's Mazurkas, Waltzes, Nocturnes, Ballades, tha beautiful Litszt's Rhapsodie Espagnole.

I must take a minute to talk about Mrs Brodsky effort in the field of young virtuosos, since for several years now, Gisselle Brodsky has been bringing to Miami and to the Miami International Festival young talented pianist that with the mission to support and help them shape and advance in their carriers as pianists.

Much more is coming up in March 2013 by this piano Festival, four performances dedicated to French masters, like the performance of Konstantin Lifschits from Russia playing in a concert to celebrate the 150 anniversary of Debussy's music.

so I definitely recommend to my musical friends these exquisite piano series, not to be missed in musical Miami.
