More than 60 countries will be represented at the 30th International Fair of Havana (FIHAV 2012), which will run from November 4 to 10 in Expocuba, Havana, organizers of the event told reporters.

Exhibitors from 62 nations have confirmed their participation so far, five more than in the previous edition, while exhibition area increased by about 2,000 square meters.

The Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX) and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Rodrigo Malmierca, also said that FIHAV will be special this year and expected more participation.

The fair is an important moment in order to promote trade, and opens an opportunity for the exchange of goods and services, which is the main source of income for the country, Malmierca stated.

He added the fair will be attended by companies from all continents and that Latin American countries will have a good representation, including Venezuela that doubles its participation.

Russia and Italy are also among the countries increasing their presence in FIHAV.

Abraham Maciques, from the Organizing Committee, mentioned among the developments that they will award those companies that have been present for 30 years and 25 years.

For his part, the president of Cuba's Chamber of Commerce, Estrella Madrigal, said the Cuban stand will be represented by 104 companies in the sectors of goods and services, including tobacco, rum, mining, fisheries, health and biopharmaceutical products.

Cuban stand will also exhibit natural and agricultural products as biofertilizers and biolarvicides, food, information technology and communications, among others.

Again Spain will be the most represented nation, with six pavilions, including the Basque Country.
