Guyana President Donald Rabindranauth Ramotar expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation agreements signed with Cuba in fields like health and education, and hoped his visit will help reinforce the bilateral relations.

His Hon. Rabindranauth Ramotar gave this interview to Prensa Latina after an exchange with the relatives of the five Cuban anti-terrorists given long jail sentences in the United States for warning their country against FLorida-baeed groups' terrorist plans.

Ramotar held talks Friday with President Raul Castro, which he described as a friendly meeting that exceeded the timetable.

The visitor arrived Wednesday in Havana with the interest of strengthening the bilateral ties established in 1972 and reaffirmed his countryâ�Ös support to lifting the US over-50-year economic, commercial and financial blockade, a stand shared with the Caricom.

President Donald Rabindranauth Ramotar defined as very moving his encounter with the relatives of Fernando Gonzalez, Ramon Labanino, Antonio Guerrero, Gerardo Hernandez and Rene Gonzalez, arrested in September 1998 in the US.

In addition, he conveyed his solidarity and called to increase solidarity with their case to achieve their release.
