Finding the perfect addition for tasting a good wine is the main attraction of the XIII International Wine Festival, to run from October 3 through the 5 in the Hotel Nacional de Cuba.

Victor Gregorio Rosquete, Sales Department specialist of this facility said that in this new edition attendees could taste new combinations of liquor, meals and cigars, in a search for the perfect comination.

Expert sources report that the combination of wine and food is not an arbitrary matter, it depends on some rules and characteristics of the products to taste, such as acid, alcohol, tannins and sugars.

He announced that this event will feature international wineries and distributors as Joan Sarda SA, Inversiones Pucara SA, ITM , D & B, AICI (Cuban-Italian Chamber of Commerce), which regularly participate to this event.

As part of the activities of this meeting , experts and fans will make blind tastings of wines to listen to their recommendations.

Rosquete added that the event will also encourage an exchange of experiences among mixologists, tasters, producers, marketers, sommeliers, food professionals and entrepreneurs from different firms.

The participating wineries will also have the opportunity to show new spirits, including sparkling wines, and discuss about the current trends.

People could attend the tastings and lectures in the 1930, Baracoa and Sancti Spiritus Halls of the hotel, for which they must pay five CUC (about 5.50 USD) a day or they also have the option of paying10 CUC for the entire programme.

This event will be supported by the Chamber of Commerce of Cuba (CCC), Habanos S A., and the Culinary Federation of the Republic of Cuba (FACRC by its Spanish acronym.
