The United States keeps hidden satellite images that prove that the downing of two planes of a Miami-based terrorist group in February 1996 occurred in Cuban airspace, denounced the parliamentary president Ricardo Alarcon.

The Cuban Five are Heroes, Says Danny Glover The U.S. rulers know those images prove that the incident occurred inside Cuban territory, only that can explain such behavior, said the president of the National Assembly of Popular Power in an article published on the website Antiterroristas.cu.

Alarcon recalled in the text that Washington denied those shots to International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) during its investigation of the case, and to the defense of the five Cubans convicted in the United States for monitoring violent groups based in Miami.

The issue of satellite images returns to the spotlight these days, since September 12 marks 14 years of the arrest in Miami of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labañino, Rene Gonzalez, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez, known as The Cuban Five.

Despite having no connection with the shooting down of the Brothers to the Rescue's aircraft, Hernandez was charged with conspiracy to commit murder or Count 3, presented by the prosecution in the case.

The determination of the exact location where the incident occurred was not relevant to Gerardo as he was totally oblivious to the fact wherever this had happened.

But it was fundamental to the Court, because it would have jurisdiction only if the unfortunate event had taken place outside of Cuban territory, "says Alarcón in his article.

He warns that since then they have been looking 'the now so famous images'.

In this regard, he mentions the multiple requests by the Center for Constitutional and Human Rights, a private institution in California, to obtain them under the Freedom of Information Act.
