Artists from 14 countries will participate in the XI Festival Circuba 2012, that will run from August 22 through September 2 in locations both in Havana and Santiago de Cuba cities.
 
Rolando Rodriguez Romero, director of the Cuban National Circus, said at a news conference at the Hotel Saint John's, that the opening gala will be held on the 22nd at the Karl Marx Theater and will be dedicated to Rodrigo Alvarez Cambra, a renowned orthopedic surgeon whom numerous artists and athletes own the possibility of coming back to sports after an injury.

He noted that the awards will be delivered on August 26th in the Trompoloco Tent and the event will wrap up on September 2 at the Heredia Theater in Santiago de Cuba.

As a novelty he mentioned the "Circuba travels through Cuba," which from September 4th through the 30th will take the show with national representatives of Argentina, France, Mexico and Venezuela to Ciego de Avila, Sancti Spiritus, Cienfuegos, Havana and Pinar del Rio provinces.

From August 22nd through the 26th the functions in Havana theaters will be held at the Karl Marx and Miramar, the Trompoloco Tent and cabarets in the National of Cuba Hotel and the Riviera.

The Erdwin Fernandez in memoriam V International Clown Competition will take place on August 23 rd through the 26th, in the Miramar Theatre, with the participation of Cuban artists and from Argentina, El Salvador, Mexico and Venezuela.

The jury be made up of the Cuban Germain Munoz, director of the Havana Circus company, Germany's Helmut Grosscurth, Chinese Wang Jingyu, Spanish Antonio Alvarez, French Raoul Gibault, British Laci Endresz, Venezuelan Oswaldo Garcia Darwin and Swiss Heinrich Gasser.
