Cuban pianist and composer Frank Fernandez was paid tribute by the City Council of Panama City, which declared him distinguish guest for his outstanding artistic merits.
Council president Ivan Picota said that the Cuban pianist has been recognized worldwide not only as an interpreter of nearly all music genres, but also for his contribution to pedagogy and his works, which include research and cultural promotion.
The ceremony was held at the City Council building in the old section of Panama City in the presence of local officials and members of the Cuban embassy in that country, PL news agency reported.
Frank Fernandez arrived in Panama on Thursday, after he made a successful performance in Colombia. He is expected to return to Cuba on Saturday.
