The Cuban men''s volleyball team classified today for the finals of the World Volleyball League, defeating the host team of Serbia 3-2 (24-26, 25-16, 21-25, 26-24 and 15-13).

  The Cubans leaned on offense by Captain Wilfredo León to overcome a two set disadvantage, and were able to reach victory in spite of playing with the audience against them in the city of Novi Sad.

After this result, Cuba is already untouchable at the top of Group A, with 25 points, and a balance of nine victories and a single defeat.

In the other match of the day, Russia defeated Japan 3-2, with partial sets of 20-25, 24-26, 25-19, 25-17 and 15-11.

Dmitriy Muserskiy and Maxim Mikhaylov headed the offense for Russia with 17 and 16 points, respectively.

The Cuban team will play tomorrow against Russia, while Serbia will face Japan.
