Cuba garnered all the medals at the North, Central American and Caribbean Beach Volleyball circuit, held in the locality of Varadero, western Matanzas province, with one of its three teams ready for the pre-Olympic meet in Mazatlan, Mexico.

Three Cuban duets controlled the sixth segment of the championship, which
took place at the Club Hotel Kwama, with the first three places being
taken by the teams made up of Kirenia Ballard and Onayamis Sinal, Leila
Martinez and Lianma Flores and Niriam Sinal and Ion Canet.

At the end of the match, coach Erasmo Palomo said that the Sinal-Canet
duet will be the first Cuban team selected for the Mazatlan pre-Olympic
games, to take place June 21-23, in Mexico.

The Mexican classificatory match will be very strong, “though I expect our
team to come victorious in their scheduled meets with Guatemala and
Canada, to later face Mexico or Puerto Rico,” said the coach.
