Soroa Orchid Botanical Garden and the University of Pinar del Rio, call for participation between 23 and 25 October at the Eighth International Workshop on Orchids.
Rolando Perez, director of research at the Garden, located in Candelaria and host the event, told ACN that will address the conservation and management, collections, phytogeography, in vitro reproduction, ecology, molecular biology, plant pathology and entomology.

He argued that the workshop developed through scientific and technical sessions, oral presentations and / or posters, keynote orchidology Personality world, all in Spanish, Portuguese and English, without simultaneous translation.

Bocourt Jose Lazaro, director of Orchid Soroa specified that those interested should submit by August 30, abstracts of papers to be evaluated by the Scientific Committee, and enclose author's name, title and country.

If approved will be notified immediately.

Such exchange shall be carried out as part of the International Symposium of the University of Pinar del Rio 2012, and is sponsored also by the National Botanic Garden of Cuba, addresses of Heritage, Culture and Environment, and the National Center for Protected Areas , among others.

Participants will stay at the Hotel Soroa, only 300 meters from the venue, and enjoy, optionally, of visits to the Biosphere Reserve Sierra del Rosario and the Mil Cumbres protected area, where observed species of orchids in the wild natural, referred Bocourt.
