Between 28 and 31 March, the streets and squares of Old Havana will be invaded by artists participating in the VII International Festival of Cuba Videodance 2012.

This festival of art and audiovisual danzario will aim to share and progression to the various possibilities of convergence between both genders, despite their different aesthetics.

Organized by the Company Dance Theatre Pieces, the Office of the Historian of the City and the Ministry of Culture, the event includes a program where the main course emphasizes the development of creative workshops that explore the most diverse links between dance and video.

Storming the city with movement and visual elements, is another proposal of the festival, where a plurality of street performance and exhibitions, will seek to interact with the public, away from the formal canons established between artist and viewer in fixed areas.

The organizing committee told AIN that this sixth edition will feature prestigious personalities in France and Spain dedicated to video dance, which will give lectures on peculiarities of their production and creative work.

Audiovisual materials that are exposed during the event, and expected to be the result of the workshops will be included in a draft library specializing in the field, to serve as a reference for those interested in this interconnection of genres.
