Since last Monday are meeting in Havana Cuba entrepreneurs and the Dominican Republic to discuss new trade agreements that strengthen business and trade between the two countries.
Havana, Feb 6 (AIN) New business opportunities to promote a greater flow of trade between Cuba and the Dominican Republic are analyzed today in this capital, by a group of businessmen from both nations.
Organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the island, the exchange attended by representatives of various Dominican companies, led by Eddy Martinez Manzueta, Secretary General and Executive Director of the Center for Export and Foreign Investment.
This meeting to be held during this week is an initiative of both governments to increase trade relations.
Martinez told reporters Manzueta interest significantly consolidificar ties in trade, cooperation and investment, "because in addition to the brotherhood, there is still untapped economic potential between the two nations," he said.
He explained that this type of space means new opportunities for business development Dominican Republic and Cuba, based on generating more wealth and jobs in our territories.
He added that at present the trade flow between both sides is around $ 60 million per year, enough for us even when compared with what they get from their trade with the rest of the world.
We therefore hope, he said, that during the meetings between delegations to establish projects and joint working arrangements, particularly in sectors such as energy, food, health, mining, manufacturing and services, priority for our economies.
Oscar Perez Oliva, Cuban Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, said the forum, though brief, is substantial for the importance to make the most of the proposals involved.
Amid the process of updating the economic model that engulfs Cuba, this type of exchange is part of measures to diversify and expand export markets, as well as to stimulate foreign investment in the country.
