The International Book Fair will be held throughout the country from 9 February to March 4 starting from Havana and ending in Santiago de Cuba. This year the New Millennium Cuban publishing houses, the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC) and Captain San Luis keep surprises readers with books that present themselves.

The chief editor of editions ICAIC, Mercy Ruiz, said this year will carry the highest number of publications in its history: 16 news and the latest issue of the magazine Cine Cubano, presented at the last International Festival of New Latin American Cinema.

Two copies will be cinema, tenth muse of Alejo Carpentier and traps Office. Notes on Cinema and Society National Literature Award 2009 and National Publishing Award 2000, Ambrosio Fornet, who is dedicated to the issue 21 of the Fair, with Zoila Lapique Becali, National Social Sciences Prize 2002.

The first one of the most important titles published in 2011 by Ediciones ICAIC and the Foundation that bears the name of the Cuban novelist, meets for the first time the texts written by Carpentier on film. Some of the volumes that will undoubtedly attract the attention of the visitors are Father Las Casas and Cuban researchers and Amaury Gutiérrez Ana Cairo and The Assassination of Julius Caesar. People's History of Ancient Rome, American intellectual historian, Michael Parenti.

Noted for its history of the popular classes and their constant criticism of mass media, Parenti offers an alternative vision to the history written by the ruling class, as he himself said in an interview. His book, an account of the Roman classes and their political struggles, is a critique of the conservative view transmitted by most ancient historians on the subject.

The Editorial Capitan San Luis will be represented at the exhibition Room 8 Morro-Cabaña with Guajiro Brigadier General Enrique Acevedo, Conspiracy Leonela larger triangle Bello and Dallas: 24 hours of a plot of journalist Therese Candia. The latter, which will be presented in Room Portuondo on Friday February 10 at 5:00 pm, is an account of the events of 1963, when from the United States was planning an attack against Fidel Castro Ruz.

With the theme Reading is growing, the International Book Fair Cuba 2012 will celebrate the bicentennial of the Cuban insurrection starring José Antonio Aponte against Spanish colonial rule prevailing in the island and the centenary of the armed uprising of the Independent Party members Color. Also, on this occasion, will be honored the cultures of the peoples of the Greater Caribbean, conceived as a cultural mosaic of diverse and united by its rich history.
