Manual cutting of cane in Villa Clara has a workforce of 400 cutters, mostly from the Basic Units of Cooperative Production (UBPC) and Agricultural Production Cooperatives (CPA) in the municipalities Remedios, andCamajuaní Ranchuelo.
It also said one of the peculiarities of the present conflict lies in not having manual cutting forces mobilized by theCentral de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC), thus decreasing the presence of cane cutters on plantations since the growth of mechanized harvesting amounts to 96 percent in the province.
Sugar Technicians Association (ATAC) arrived on January 3 to its 85 years constituted a greater role for fullmembership in the work of the sector, said Magda Vega Suarez, president of that organization in Villa Clara.
He added that the ATAC celebrates this anniversary at a special time of production of cane sugar and itsderivatives from the rearrangement of the sector and the development of a higher harvest efficiency of the above.He said that demand, henceforth, a higher performance specialists, technicians and skilled workers in the development of actions linked to changes cane-sugar program in tune with the economic guidelines of the SixthParty Congress.
To mark the 85th Anniversary of the top leadership in Villa Clara ATAC sent a greeting to its more than 600thousand members with the exhortation to work for the implementation of technological discipline, deep analysis of the problems that arise and propose more effective measures to solve them.
