Increase tourist arrivals to Cuba in 2011

Cuba reported a 8.2% growth in foreign tourist arrivals to the country in the period from January to September 2011.
According to a report by the National Statistics Office, so far, a total of 2,064,229 travelers have visited Cuban territory, a figure thatapproached the tourism sector to meet the target this year to 2,700,000 visitors. That office reported that in terms of real numbers, 160,591 foreign tourists visited the country over the same period of 2010.
