With the presence of Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment in Cuba (Rodrigo Malmierca) took place at the shipyards in Shanghai a ceremony to hand over the second ship of a total of ten bulk ship being built in these facilities

Speaking to those present during the activity, Alberto Blanco Silva, Ambassador of Cuba to China, highlighted the strategic importance of the shipbuilding project in the context of economic and trade relations and cooperation between Cuba and China. Similarly, stressed that the successful execution of this project was made possible thanks to the excellent links that hold the two countries, which are a benchmark for the world and an example of cooperation and friendship based on equality and mutual respect.

In reference to "LEONOR"", a name which was christened the ship, the Cuban ambassador said it was an honor to have the same sail the seas with the name of the mother of our National Hero José Martí, who left her constancy of love mother in many of his writings and that he always had an elderly mother, the Fatherland.

The ceremony was attended by the highest authorities of Shanghai Shipyard and Chinese companies implementing the project, while the Cuban side included representatives from shipping companies, the National Bank office in Beijing and officials of the Embassy of Cuba and the Consulate General accredited in Shanghai.
